Positive action against retail offenders

The Central Neighbourhood Team have been taking action against prolific retail crime offenders and have recently secured charges against two people.

Rema Thompson, 48, has been charged with 6 counts of shoplifting and one count of assault. She received an 18 week custodial sentence.

Abdulaziz Mohammed, 33, has been charged with 6 counts of shoplifting and one public order offence. He has been remanded to appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court today (07/11/2025).

Neighbourhood Officers are taking robust action against prolific retail offenders that feel entitled to steal from businesses in our community.

Shoplifting isn’t a victimless crime. It drives up prices for honest customers. When people steal from local shops, everyone pays the price.
